On this day in history on January 28, 1986 the United States had one of its worst tragedies that was seen by millions of people. The space shuttle was supposed to  take off on January 23 but it was changed and so they had to wait six long days for the Challenger‘s to be launched. The reason it was delayed was because of weather and also technical problems. Then finally on day it was much on January 28 the shuttle took off. On this day the space shuttle Challenger took off from Cape Canaveral Florida and about two minutes later from its take off hundreds of people that wore on the ground and millions on live tv and even there family and friends saw how the shuttle got on fire and lots of smoke started coming out of the shuttle and blowing into millions of pieces in the middle of the area. In the space shuttle there wore 7 passengers. In those 7 passengers was Christa McAuliffe who she was going to becoming the first U.S. civilian to travel into space and McAuliffe also who she was a high school social studies teacher from New Hampshire.  McAuliffe to won a competition that gave her a place and be one of the 7 member crew of the Challenger. But in reality she had just won her self a ticket to her death. However a few months before they took McAuliffe was put in shuttle training so she could be prepared for the trip. This tragedy left no survivors all 7 of the passenger blow up into a million of pieces with out leaving any sign of them.
This affected the people in many way. One way it affected them is because they saw the death of innocent people. It was so unexpected and it could have effected the life of many people who saw this. It probably hurt the most their families because they couldn't do anything to save them but just watch and see them fall in a million pieces. This also affected the company because of law suit from family members. However this scared many people and they didn't want to send people up to salve for a while.
One way this affects us is because of this tragedy only professional go up to space. This means that I can't win a trip to space like the history teacher did. This also affects us in the way that it has become part of our history and many keep this people in their memories. However the main reason it affects me is because I have to write a essay about this for a weekly grade. Also because it gets me scared and makes me not want to be a astronaut because I don't want the space shuttle to blow up while I'm in the middle of the air. This also make me feel bad for the people that had to see this and the family of the affected ones.

On this day in history 1950 it was when 11 men pulled off one of the most historical robbery that had ever took place. This robbery took place in Boston Massachusetts where the 11 men stole from the Brinks Armored Car depot more than $2 million dollars in cash, coins, checks and money orders. The leader of the group was a guy called Anthony Pino or well knows as fats Pino. Anthony was really smart and new what he was doing because this wasn't his first time committing crimes. Anthony robbed for a living and he used his knowledge and recruited a group of 10 other men to recorded everything that happened at the depot for 18 months so they can know when it has the most amount of money so they can steal it. Anthony's men wore able to steal plans for the depot’s alarm system so they could know where it was at and how to turn it off and then returning them before anyone could ever noticed that they were gone. The way they dressed was really smart and the techniques they used. They went inside the depot with copied keys of the depot and tying up several of the employees that wore inside the company’s counting room. However they wore wearing things to make others think that they wore employees so people wouldn't suspect who they wore, so the had navy blue coats and caps that looked alike to the Brinks employee uniforms but the only difference was that they wore wearing rubber Halloween masks with it so they could hide their faces. The robbery was the perfect crime. Just because it was the perfect crime doesn't mean that they didn't have problems by filling 14  bags with with 2 million dollars witch weighted a total of more than half a ton the men had to struggle and carry all that money and in their getaway car. This took them about 30 minutes. Everything was going so perfect for them and until the robbers wore caught on January 1956 because of one of the men called Joseph O’Keefe was being looked for because of another robbery. When the group found out they thought he was going to snitch on them about the money. So they send people to kill him so he won't talk but the cops got him before they could kill him. Later on he made a deal with the F.B.I and just days before the statute of limitations for the theft expired the men wore caught.
This affect the whole country back in those time. The reason why was because the amount of money was big and no one had every stole so much money in 30 minutes until that day. This made lots of residents have mix emotions. Some people wore amazing of the amount of money they stoled and how long they had it with out getting caught and with out leavening evidence but the tops that they used to tie the employees. Other people wore scared because they felt unsafe and they felt that what if that could of been there money. However people wore also very angry of how they went pass there security sit with out getting caught and for them to have copies of the keys. This got the owner very angers because it made him look like a fool. He was also mad because they had to face lawsuit for the owners of the money that was told. This had a great impact in the people because all they want was pease but with this they feel unsafe for them and their money also.
This also had a great effort on us because it this help the security system to be reinforced and with better technology that would make it hard to get through. It also affected us because of events like these are the reason why people don't have trust them with their money. This also could have inspired some to stop other from doing crimes like those. It could have also inspired another brainless person to steal a greater amount of money so he could make history also. This has both negative and positive affects on us.

Grand Canyon

This day in history on January 11, 1908, it was when the twenty six president Theodore Roosevelt who had a particular affection for American west made the Grand Canyon in northwestern Arizona into a national monument. Also the Congress didn't let any private development in the Grand Canyon. Then later on in 1919 President Woodrow Wilson then signed a act that made it a park. That act was called the Grand Canyon National Park Act. During 13 century there wore still some native Americans this still live in or near the Grand Canyon. Later on by the end of the 19th century the Grand Canyon had thousands of tourists each year that came to visit it. Now days nearly more then 5 million people visited the Grand Canyon every year. Later on Theodore Roosevelt became one of its most famous tourist that visit the Grand Canyon. The monument was 800 acres of land. When the first time the European knew of the Grand Canyon existence was until 1540. The reason was because the members of an expedition who's leader was a famous Spanish explorer called Francisco Vasquez de Coronado. The reason for this was because of its location and how it was manny centuries passed before North American settlers actually explored the Grand Canyon. The first American exploration started by a group 10 men that wore lead by a men call geologist John Wesley Powell. Geologist John Wesley Powell explosion took place in 1869. The explosion started on the Colorado River and had to go for  277 mile long. This trip was hard for them because they did this in only four rowboats. However after Theodore Roosevelt become a president he made environmental conservation a big part of his presidency and made it one of his mine points. After establishing the National Wildlife Refuge to take care of the country’s animals. Roosevelt put more important in the federal regulation of public lands. Even though a area could be a national park all private development on that land was illegal only by an act of Congress but Roosevelt changed things by beginning a new presidential practice of a similar to national monument designation for the West’s greatest treasures.
This affect them in many different ways. One way it affected then was that they couldn't build and private industry because it would be illegal. However it was easy for people to  get there. One way to get to the Grand Canyon it is by foot easy to get there when you don't have a car to move around. There are many other ways such as by car or boat. This help them also economically also because of how they got more tourists to came in and see then Grand Canyon. However these tourists bought things like souvenirs. Another way it could affect them because they got a great population near the area was by the Gand Canyon.
This also has a great affect on us because we use it to for many different like extreme sports such as whitewater rafting and hiking. One of the most popular this to do their is for running. Many choose to to enjoy the beautiful and breathtaking view from the canyon. This monument has become history for us because it's been unchanged for over 400 years. This also affects us because it can inspire people of the beauty that God has created for us. It also helps want to learn about it and know its history.
